The College World Series won’t play this year but Triple Crown Sports is proud to produce the 2020 Omaha SlumpBuster.

Twenty teams from Colorado, Illinois, Iowa and Nebraska will compete from June 18-21 in a four-game guarantee format. Games will take place at the Council Bluff Recreational Sports Complex in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

“The SlumpBuster is excited to be able to provide baseball once again and get the kids back on the field this coming week in Council Bluffs (Iowa),” said Triple Crown Baseball event director Brandon Hardy.

This year marks the 18th year of the event, and though it won’t feature the same pomp and circumstance as a normal year, teams can still expect to sign the signature 10-foot bats during a team party at the Mattress Factory near TD Ameritrade Ballpark. The bats will burn during the 2021 event.

In conjunction with Sports UAC (United Against COVID), Triple Crown Sports has worked diligently to create a set of protocols to ensure the safety of athletes, coaches and fans. The guidelines have been vetted by other governing bodies, municipalities, event managers, public health sectors, coaches and more. In addition to these new rules, TCS is also following strict CDC recommendations.

“We are thrilled to have a contingent of teams arrive at the Council Bluffs Recreational Complex this week and participate in the SlumpBuster,” said Triple Crown CEO Keri King. “Without the CWS as the main attraction, the event is much smaller but we’re still excited for a great weekend of ball.”
