Update on the 2020 Omaha SlumpBuster

3/12/2020

Comments

On March 12, the NCAA announced the cancellation of the D-I spring sports schedule, which means there will be no 2020 College World Series in Omaha this June.

Triple Crown appreciates the hundreds of teams registered in the SlumpBuster looking forward to seeing CWS games. While Triple Crown sorts through new options to add value to the event, we’re hoping teams can hold off on requesting refunds, to give us time to come up with alternative options.  We will be extending the deadline for refunds (minus the 10% administrative fee) from April 1 to April 15.

We are already in contact with our hotel partners in expectation that we can secure significant discounts on room rates now that the NCAA won’t be in town. Ideas are already in motion as the City of Omaha and TCS look for ways to work together to make the SlumpBuster memorable.

A vast number of teams come to the SlumpBuster for baseball, and we are ready to deliver, with 40-plus states represented – large brackets (Session 1 & 3) and varied competition against teams you’d never see otherwise.

In the meantime, please let TC’s hard-working staff make progress on these issues over the next few days. Event directors will keep your coach in step with developments as we work to make the 2020 Omaha SlumpBuster an event you’ll treasure forever.

*Parents, please communicate with your Head Coach in regards to event questions and updates.
